How do I replace a discontinued temperature and humidity sensor in my equipment?

This happens more often than you would think, and several manufacturers have turned to Dracal when their supplier dropped a sensor.

  • A manufacturer of industrial fiber testing machines needed a replacement that kept its existing COM port integration and ran on Windows 7 and Windows 10 LTSC. The VCP option fit: the sensor appears as a standard serial port, with no proprietary driver or third-party package.
  • Joulescope replaced a discontinued USB sensor on its calibration line and adapted our Python serial example to its own test station API.
  • AVL replaced two analog sensors with one digital Dracal sensor. Its customers now swap the sensor for calibration instead of shipping the whole system to the lab.

What makes the switch easier: every unit has a unique serial number, ISO/IEC 17025 traceable certificates are available, and our temperature, humidity and pressure sensors share the same integration tools. Learn more on our OEM integration page.
