How can I synchronize readings from several USB sensors across PCs?

Dracal gives you two ways to get readings that line up in time, depending on how your setup is built.

  • Each PC keeps its own sensors. Synchronize the clocks of all your computers with the same NTP server, then read the sensors with our REST API or MQTT Publisher, whose readings are timestamped in UTC. With MQTT, a central broker can then gather every reading in one place.
  • Your sensors can reach a network. Connect them to SensGates. Each one keeps its clock synchronized through NTP, and a single computer can collect the data from all of them with dracal-sensgate-get.

When several sensors share the same computer, DracalView writes them all into a single file, with one synchronized timestamp per line (read why this matters).
